Underground cavity requiring GeoPro void-filling injection resin treatment

GeoPro ground-engineering solutions

Void Filling

Rapid-setting injection resin for filling inaccessible cavities, bridging irregular spaces and restoring contact and support around underground structures and excavations.

Controlled expansion Rapid setting Inaccessible cavities

02 — Void-filling system

A controlled system for inaccessible spaces

GeoPro SF-25 is a rapid-setting, expanding injection resin developed to occupy irregular cavities and difficult-to-reach spaces. Its application should form part of a designed and monitored treatment process.

SF-25

Expanding void-filling resin

Expansion allows the material to progress through irregular space, but the treatment must remain controlled against the surrounding conditions.

GeoPro SF-25

A two-component polyurea silicate expanding resin intended for filling voids and cavities where conventional placement may be impractical. The system rapidly reacts after mixing and develops an expanding, hardened fill within the treated space.

Treatment process

Controlled from investigation to verification

Void filling is not simply the placement of an expanding material. Each treatment should be developed around the geometry of the cavity, surrounding constraints and the required engineering outcome, with control maintained throughout injection.

  1. Establish conditions

    Investigate

Review the likely extent, accessibility and condition of the void together with the structures, services and ground that could influence treatment.

Primary output Defined constraints and treatment assumptions

  2. Develop the method

    Define

Establish injection locations, sequencing, material quantities, pressure limits and termination criteria appropriate to the cavity and surrounding conditions.

    Primary output Project-specific injection plan

  3. Place and monitor

    Inject

Introduce the material in a controlled sequence while observing pressure, uptake, response and any evidence of movement or unintended material migration.

Primary output Recorded and controlled material placement

  4. Confirm the outcome

    Verify

Compare the completed works with the defined acceptance criteria using treatment records, observed response and any project-specific verification measures.

    Primary output Documented treatment completion

04 — Project support

Define the void before defining the treatment

Effective void filling begins with an understanding of cavity geometry, access, confinement and the surrounding ground or structure. M&T Global can help review the available information and develop a controlled route from investigation to verification.
